Christ the Cornerstone, Part 2
Here is a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on the themes from the sermon ‘Christ the Cornerstone, Part 2’ from May 4th, 2025.
Day 1: The Evidence of Jesus Reading: John 20:24-31
Devotional: Thomas doubted Jesus' resurrection until he saw and touched the risen Lord. Like the religious leaders in Acts 4, we sometimes struggle to believe despite overwhelming evidence. Today, reflect on the evidence for Jesus in your own life. What miracles, answered prayers, or transformations have you witnessed? How has Jesus proven himself real to you? Remember. “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Ask God to strengthen your faith and help you trust Him more fully, even when you can't see everything clearly.
Day 2: The Wisdom of God Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:18-31
Devotional: The world often dismisses the gospel as foolishness, but God's wisdom surpasses human understanding. Consider how following Jesus has made you wiser in ways the world might not recognize. Perhaps you've learned how to forgive, to love sacrificially, or to find joy in difficult circumstances. Thank God for the true wisdom found in Christ. Pray for humility to embrace God's wisdom, even when it seems counterintuitive to worldly thinking. How can you apply God's wisdom to a challenge you're facing today?
Day 3: Bold Witness Reading: Acts 4:13-22
Devotional: Even though Peter and John, were uneducated, common men, they spoke with astonishing boldness about Jesus. Their time with Christ had transformed them. How has your relationship with Jesus changed you? Ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit and give you boldness to share your faith, even in intimidating situations. Consider one person you can share your testimony with this week. Remember, it's not about eloquence or education, but about the power of Christ working through you.
Day 4: Salvation by Grace Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10
Devotional: We can't earn our salvation through good works or intellectual prowess. It's a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus. Reflect on your own journey to faith. How has God's grace transformed your life? Thank Him for the undeserved gift of salvation. Consider areas where you might still be trying to earn God's favor rather than resting in His grace. Pray for a deeper understanding of God's love and acceptance, and ask Him to help you extend that same grace to others.
Day 5: All of Life Under Christ Reading: Colossians 3:12-17
Devotional: Following Jesus impacts every area of our lives – our relationships, work, attitudes, and actions. As you read this passage, consider how your faith in Christ should shape your daily life. Are there areas where you need to more fully submit to Christ's lordship? Consider your speech, your treatment of others, or your work ethic. Thank God for His presence in every aspect of your life. Ask Him to help you live in a way that consistently reflects His character and love. Let the peace of Christ and the truths of his Word dwell in you richly.
